Puchi Colón celebra 30 años de trayectoria ministerial en Puerto Rico, Estados Unidos y el extranjero, llevando el mensaje de salvación a través de su música en inglés y español. Es cantante, compositor, líder de adoración, músico y productor. Nació en Nueva Jersey, de ascendencia puertorriqueña. Su pasión por la música complementa su sincero amor por su Salvador, Jesucristo, y su firme convicción de contribuir al Reino de Dios. Reconoce su talento como un regalo de Dios y lo entrega como una ofrenda de adoración.

Puchi estrenó su primer álbum como solista en 1996, titulado “Voy a Comenzar”. En 1997, Ralph Hernández se unió a Puchi y formaron su banda, lo que les permitió viajar y ministrar en diferentes lugares de Estados Unidos, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, México, Guatemala y Nicaragua.

En el año 2000, Puchi y su esposa JoAnn lanzaron el álbum “Busca A Jesús” bajo su sello Jovi Music, así como el primer álbum en inglés de “Salsa Praise”, ofreciendo al mercado de la música cristiana algo nunca antes presentado: un álbum completo de salsa cristiana en inglés. En el verano de 2003, Puchi recibió el reconocimiento de “Artista del Año” por Radio Cristiana de Nueva York 970DJ. Ha sido nominado a los Latino Diamonds Awards, Premios El Galardón, Praise Music Awards y Premios Radikal. En 2004, participó en el National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast en Washington, D.C., durante la presidencia de George W. Bush. Además, ha participado en programas como PTL (TBN), Club 700 (CBN), TCT Network, Medio Día Puerto Rico de WAPA América, y en los estudios de Martin Cohen en Congahead Studios, en Nueva York.

 

En su amplio repertorio musical cuenta con 14 producciones discográficas, entre las que se destaca “Que No Pare (Don’t Stop The Praise)”, con la participación especial del maestro Bobby Cruz. También ha realizado colaboraciones musicales con Rubén Félix Xariz, Richie Ray, Jay Kalyl, Unified Sound, Luis Fabián, Christian Legacy’s Big Band, Norberto Vélez (Sesiones Desde La Loma) y recientemente con su hijo Joel Colón.Actualmente, Puchi Colón disfruta el honor de ministrar junto a sus tres hijos: Mick (trombón), Joel (trompeta y coros) y Sammy (batería y timbal), quienes forman parte de su orquesta “Salsa Praise Band”.​

Cabe destacar que Puchi cuenta con 14 producciones discográficas, con temas como “What’s Going On”, “Obediencia”, “Vivo Enamorado”, “WayMaker (Español)”, “Haz Tu Voluntad”, “Great I Am”, “Everlasting God / Coritos Medley”, “Por Siempre Te Adoraré”, “Me Asombra Tu Amor”, “Goodness of God” y “La Bondad de Dios”, esta última posicionándose en el Top Ten de Nueva Vida 97.7 FM en Puerto Rico.

Puchi ha servido fielmente como líder de adoración en la iglesia local desde el año 2008. Actualmente, se desempeña como Pastor de Adoración en Haven Worship Center, en el estado de Florida, donde ministra junto a su familia. Indudablemente, Puchi Colón ha sido testigo de la bondad, fidelidad y gracia de Dios en cada etapa de su caminar.

Puchi Colón is celebrating 30 years of music ministry, faithfully carrying the message of salvation through his music in both English and Spanish across Puerto Rico, the United States, and internationally. He is a singer, songwriter, worship leader, musician, and producer whose ministry is marked by excellence, authenticity, and a deep love for Jesus Christ.

Born in New Jersey and of Puerto Rican descent, Puchi’s passion for music is matched by his sincere devotion to his Savior and his unwavering commitment to advancing the Kingdom of God. He humbly recognizes his musical gift as something entrusted to him by God and offers it back as an act of worship.

Puchi released his first solo album in 1996, titled Voy a Comenzar (I Will Begin). In 1997, Ralph Hernández joined him, forming what would become his band and opening doors to minister throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.

In 2000, Puchi and his wife JoAnn released Busca A Jesús under their independent label, Jovi Music. That same year, they also released the first-ever English-language Christian salsa album, Salsa Praise, introducing something entirely new to the Christian music market—a full salsa worship project in English. During the summer of 2003, Puchi was honored as “Artist of the Year” by New York Christian Radio 970DJ. Over the years, he has been nominated for several prestigious awards, including the Latino Diamonds Awards, Premios El Galardón, Praise Music Awards, and Premios Radikal. In 2004, he participated in the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., during the presidency of George W. Bush.

Puchi has been featured on prominent Christian platforms such as TBN’s Alabanza al Señor, The 700 Club (CBN), TCT Network, Medio Día Puerto Rico on WAPA América, and at Conga head Studios in New York with producer Martin Cohen.

His musical catalog includes 15 productions, with standout projects such as Que No Pare (Don’t Stop the Praise), featuring a special appearance by legendary artist Bobby Cruz. Throughout his career, Puchi has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Rubén Félix, Richie Ray, Jay Kalyl, Jared Anderson, Unified Sound, Luis Fabian, LaRue Howard, CLBB, Norberto Vélez (Sesiones Desde La Loma), and most recently, his son Joel Colón.

 

One of Puchi’s greatest joys is ministering alongside his family. He currently shares the stage with his three sons—Mick(trombone), Joel (trumpet and vocals), and Sammy (drums and timbal)—as members of the Salsa Praise Band.

Some of his most recent singles include “What’s Going On,” “Obediencia,” “Vivo Enamorado,” “WayMaker” (Spanish), “Haz Tu Voluntad,” “Great I Am” (Latin arrangement), “Coritos Medley,” “Por Siempre Te Adoraré,” “Felicidad Todo El Año,” “Goodness of God,” and “La Bondad de Dios,” which reached the Top Ten on Nueva Vida 97.7 FM in Puerto Rico.

 

Puchi Colón has served as Worship Pastor at Living Water Fellowship, Calvary Orlando, and Word of Life Christian Center in Denver, Colorado, under the leadership of Dr. Tim Bagwell. He currently serves as Worship Pastor at Haven Worship Center in Winter Haven, Florida, where he continues to minister alongside his wife, JoAnn, and their sons. Throughout every season of his journey, Puchi Colón has faithfully witnessed the goodness and faithfulness of God.
